warrantless wiretapping / spying
The End of America chronicles the Bush Administration's use of surveillance ostensibly to intimidate its citizens, despite its cover story of being necessity to fight our "War on Terror." Domestic spying, in the form of Warrantless Wiretapping in partnership with the nation's telecommunications firms, and the reauthorization of FISA, has yet to be dismantled by the Obama administration. Sen. Feingold - the lone dissenting vote against the first Patriot Act -- is working with Sen. Lahey to pass the State Secrets Protection Act. Both the Electronic Freedom Foundation (EFF) and the ACLU are litigating against the ongoing use of domestic spying.
